Fans already knew that Epcot’s long-running nighttime spectacular IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth was ending its run this year, but during a Disney Parks livestream of the show this evening, we learned just when it would take its final bow — and when the new show Epcot Forever would arrive.
- After a 20-year run, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will have its final performance on September 30th.
- The next day, October 1st, a new show titled Epcot Forever will debut.
- Epcot Forever will celebrate “the past, present and future of Epcot,” and utilize music from the park’s history.
- Of course the show will also include fireworks, lighting, and lasers along with choreographed, special effects kites.
- New concept art for the show was also released:
- Additionally, the Disney Parks Blog shared a sneak preview:
- Ironically, Epcot Forever will only be a temporary feature as another new nighttime spectacular is in the works for 2020.
- That currently-untitled show will “celebrate how Disney music inspires people around the world, and will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics and lasers.”
