A family from Louisiana has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Disney after allegedly coming into contact with bedbugs during a 2018 Walt Disney World vacation, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
- Ashley and Robert LaCombe say they were on a five-day vacation in April 2018, during which they noticed some itchiness and redness.
- After returning to their home in Louisiana, they realized they had been bitten by bedbugs, according to the lawsuit.
- The lawsuit also says the couple contacted the hotel at which they stayed, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, and were informed by employees that the hotel was dealing with bedbugs.
- The LaCombes have said they needed to hire an exterminator to kill the bugs in their home, which then forced them to find another temporary place to stay.
- They also had to throw away infests furniture and other belongings and take time off from work to deal with the situation.
- The couple has an autistic son who was also affected by the bedbugs, causing more stress for the family.
- The LaCombes accuse Disney of not informing them of the bedbug issue, as well as not keeping their hotels free of infestations to begin with.
- The lawsuit seeks more than $75,000 in damages.
- A Disney spokeswoman did not offer any comment other than to say that Disney would respond appropriately in court.
