Disney Cruise Line recently celebrated “Day of the Seafarer” by inviting students from the Bahamas Maritime Cadet Corps to tour the Disney Dream.
What’s happening:
- The Disney Cruise Line celebrated the International Maritime Organization’s “Day of the Seafarer” by giving students a tour of the Disney Dream.
- Students from the Bahamas Maritime Cadet Corps (BMCC) met with shipboard officers when the Disney Dream was docked in Nassau.
- The “Day of the Seafarer” is celebrated annually on June 25 and recognizes the unique contributions made by seafarers from all over the world.
- During the tour, the students explored the ship’s engine room, toured the bridge, went behind-the-scenes of The Walt Disney Theater and participated in a panel discussion with the ship’s captain, Andy McRonald, along with other senior officers.

- Captain Minnie Mouse debuted this past spring and where she meets with guests on all Disney ships and visits port communities.
- Later this year, Captain Minnie Mouse will also appear in an all-new, onboard youth activity being developed for Disney Cruise Line ships.
- These activities will be focused on young captain hopefuls and will incorporate STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills in a fun, interactive marine-themed activity.
