Charges Filed Against Three Adults Involved in Viral Disneyland Toontown Fight

Two weeks after a video documenting a brutal brawl at Disneyland went viral and made headlines, charges have been filed against three individuals involved.

  • As KTLA reports, charges have been brought against two males and one female following the July 6th incident.
  • 35-year-old Avery Desmond-Edwinn Robinson has been charged with five felonies and nine misdemeanors.
  • Las Vegas resident Robinson is accused of attacking his sister, brother-in-law, and girlfriend as well as endangering a total of four children — one of which is his own.
  • Robinson is also accused of making threats toward members of his family while they were driving out of the resort as well as allegedly attempting to hit a Disneyland Cast Member with his vehicle after the family was removed from the park.
  • If convicted on all charges, Robinson could face seven years and four months in prison.
  • He is currently scheduled for arraignment today (July 23rd, 2019) and is being held at the Orange County Jail.
  • Andrea Nicole Robinson, Avery’s sister, is charged with five misdemeanors resulting from battery on members of her family as well as a Disneyland Cast Member.
  • She faces two years and six months in prison if convicted on all counts.
  • Daman Petrie, the husband of Andrea Robinson, is facing one misdemeanor count of battery, carrying a maximum sentence of six months in prison.

For background:

  • The incident in question occurred on July 6th, 2019 in the Toontown area of Disneyland Park.
  • In the days following the fight, a video posted to YouTube went viral and made national headlines.
  • Anaheim Police said they were made aware of the video and, with it, would be able to pursue charges.
  • Last week, the department confirmed they had presented to case to the Orange Country District Attorney’s office.

What they’re saying

  • Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer: “The Orange County District Attorney’s Office does not tolerate domestic violence or child endangerment anywhere.”
  • Disneyland Resort (via Twitter on July 8th, 2019): “Any type of violence is inexcusable and will not be tolerated. Those involved were immediately removed from the premises and turned over to @AnaheimPD”
