Freeform is reportedly not renewing Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists for a second season. The spinoff show debuted this spring.
What’s happening:
- It’s a sad day for fans of the Pretty Little Liars franchise, as Freeform has decided not to renew Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists for a second season.
- Deadline reported the news of the series’ cancellation on Friday.
- Perfectionists was a spinoff of the popular Pretty Little Liars (PLL) series—which ran for 7 seasons—and even starred a few favorites from the original show including Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parris.
- Both PLL series hailed from writer and executive producer I. Marlene King.
- While Perfectionists remained in the fan favorite universe and was even based on a book series by Sara Shepard, Deadline says the show’s number weren’t close to those of the original even when factoring in DVR and streaming.
- While Perfectionists won’t be coming back, no word has been given yet on third seasons for either Good Trouble or Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger.
