The Disney Wonder has set sail with some new enhancements, including the brand new French Quarter Lounge and the Disney Parks Blog has a look at all the new additions to the Disney Cruise Line ship.
- These new enhancements were announced back in June.
- The new French Quarter Lounge brings guests to the wonderful world of Princess Tiana and into the hear of New Orleans’ iconic French Quarter.
- The new lounge is the perfect compliment to the The Princess and the Frog-inspired Tiana’s Place Restaurant, which is just a few stops away.
- The lounge will offer live music on a gazebo stage and New Orleans-themed drinks.
- Fans of The Princess and the Frog will enjoy picking out some of the lounge’s details taken directly from the movie, like the hats on display in the storefront window inspired by characters from the film.
- More details can be found throughout the lounge, including a full-sized streetcar on the St. Charles line – the same trolley that Tiana rides in the film.
- The lounge’s bar serves specialty cocktails, nonalcoholic beverages and coffees, but also features elements inspired by the villainous Dr. Facilier.
- A mural on the wall features Dr. Facilier’s shadow and his business card and a door in the area is based on the entrance to Dr. Facilier’s shop, with signage and three flickering “candles” overhead.
- Throughout the day, guests can head to the lounge for New Orleans-themed family activities, trivia, character meet-and-greets and music.
- Aside from the lounge, Cove Cafe has been reimagined as an exclusive adults-only coffee shop.
- The cafe offers plenty of seating and ocean views, making it the perfect place to sip a specialty coffee or tea throughout the day, and indulge in wine or a cocktail and light bites during the evening hours.
- The adjacent Signals Bar has also been updated with a similar look.
- Vibe, the area of the ship reserved exclusively for teeen ages 14-17, has also received an update.
- The club’s bright redesign features framed quotes on the walls, a light color palette and metal work as well as a new coffee bar and updated virtual reality technology.
- The Disney Wonder offers a variety of itineraries and ports of call throughout the year, including:
- Alaska
- The Mexican Riviera
- Caribbean
- Bahamas
- The Disney Wonder will also be returning to New Orleans in 2021.
