There’s a lot going on in the world of streaming services these days. While Disney is preparing for the launch of one streaming service next month, their other has added a nice new feature. Hulu has introduced downloads for offline viewing on mobile devices.
- Available today on iOS, viewers on the Hulu (No Ads) plan will now be able to download content, choosing from thousands of shows and movies including:
- Family Guy
- Desperate Housewives
- This is Us
- How I Met Your Mother
- ER
- Shrek
- Mission: Impossible – Fallout
- A Quiet Place
- Transformers: The Last Knight
- Iron Man 2
- And much more
- Users can also download Hulu Originals like:
- The Handmaid’s Tale,
- Shrill and
- The Act
- Users will be able to take these shows and movies on the go and watch without any internet connection.
- To download content, Hulu subscribers can simply click on the ‘Downloads’ button at the bottom of the screen.
- There, users will find a button that says “See What’s Downloadable.” After clicking that, users can browse through thousands of titles.
- Users can still search for content and see if it is downloadable by looking for the ‘download’ icon on the details page.
- Hulu subscribers can download up to 25 titles across 5 different devices and will have up to 30 days to watch their downloaded content.
- For watched content, the download will expire two days after starting playback
- After downloaded content expires, viewers can renew an expired download when online, if that content is still available on Hulu.
- Hulu subscribers using iOS can simply upload their app to get access to downloads today.
- Downloads will also be coming to Android soon.
- Disney+ will also offer downloads of all its content, with the only restriction being the storage space on the device.
