Academy Award-nominated actor Robert Forster passed away at the age of 78 Friday, at his home in Los Angeles after a fight with brain cancer, according to the Washington Post.
- According to his publicist, Kathie Berlin, Forster passed as a result of brain cancer at his Los Angeles home on Friday, October 11.
- Forster was born on July 13, 1941 in Rochester, New York.
- The actor began his career as an army private in the 1967 film Reflections in a Golden Eye.
- Disney fans may know him from his role in the 1979 space opera The Black Hole.
- He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s 1997 crime film Jackie Brown, which coincidentally was distributed by Miramax Films which was owned by the Walt Disney Company at the time.
- Forster most recently appeared in the Netflix film El Camino, a spinoff of the hit AMC series Breaking Bad, which premiered on October 11.
- Forster is survived by his longtime partner, Denise Grayson; his son, Bobby Foster; three daughters, Elizabeth Foster Howell, Maeghen Perry Dimperio and Kate Forster Simmons; and four grandchildren.
