The Walt Disney Family Museum’s “The Walt Disney Studios and World War II” Exhibit Opening March 19th with Early Access for Museum Members on the 18th

The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco will open the special exhibit “The Walt Disney Studios and World War II” for museum members on March 18th and to the public on March 19th. The museum’s main exhibit will reopen at a later date that has yet to be determined.

What’s Happening:

  • Under California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, The Walt Disney Family Museum is able to reopen at 25% capacity and the non-profit organization just announced that their special exhibit, “The Walt Disney Studios and World War II”, is ready to premiere in the Diane Disney Miller Exhibition Hall.
  • On Thursday, March 18th, members of the museum are invited to experience the new exhibit and it will open to general admission on March 19th.
  • Museum members need to make a reservation for their visit, which can be made in the member section of the museum’s website.
  • Tickets are available for Friday, March 19th and beyond and are date and time specific.
  • The exhibit will be open Thursdays through Sundays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the latest entry allowed at 4:00 pm.
  • These hours also include the Museum Store in the main building. The main museum and cafe will not be reopening at this time.
  • The Walt Disney Family Museum will make an announcement regarding the main museum’s reopening date in the future.

The Walt Disney Family Museum Health and Safety Enhancements:

  • Face coverings are required at all times for staff and guests ages three and over.
  • Increased cleaning frequency and procedures implemented throughout the day.
  • Distancing of at least six feet required for both guests and staff.
  • Additional hand sanitation stations installed throughout the museum and signage indicating handwashing locations.
  • Installation of clear acrylic coverings in transactional areas.
  • Directional signage and placement of staff to ensure continual flow and eliminate crowding.
  • Modified gallery interactives and listening stations that can now be experienced using the WDFM mobile app, headphones, or disposable styluses available free of charge.
  • Capacity limitations for daily attendance and all spaces.
  • Daily staff health checks prior to arrival at the museum.
