With the recent closure of the Main Street Cinema Art of Disney location, all that art had to go somewhere right? And it looks like it made its way across the park to Bonjour Village Gifts in Fantasyland.
What’s Happening:
- Main Street Cinema on Main Street USA at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has closed for a reimagining, likely for the 50th anniversary celebration coming up later this year.
- The Main Street Cinema has been a merchandise location in disguise, acting as the parks Art of Disney store for over a decade. With the location all the art was unavailable until recently.
- Across the park, the Bonjour Village Gifts retail location in near Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland has been closed since the parks reopened last July, but now all the art from the Main Street Cinema has made its way to Fantasyland and now fills the shelves and available space of this Fantasyland offering that has now reopened.
- When the store originally opened with the new Fantasyland expansion in 2012, it was filled with Beauty and the Beast-related souvenirs and collectibles, as well as Beauty and the Beast housewares like plates and towels.
- The merchandise has stayed largely the same over the years, with new additions here and there and incorporating other characters featured in Fantasyland as well.
- The store, in theme, has not changed, but has transformed into the park's new Art of Disney location, and is open now.
