What’s Happening:
- Variety has reported that the final episode of The Goldbergs featuring George Segal, who played Albert “Pops” Solomon, will air on Wednesday, April 7 at 8:00 pm ET. The episode, “Couple Off,” will be followed by a tribute to Segal.
- Born in 1934 in Great Neck, New York, George Segal discovered his love of acting at age 9. His big break came in 1966 as part of the four-part ensemble in the film adaptation of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, acting alongside Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and Sandy Dennis. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
- After a long career in film and on the stage, George Segal became a TV sitcom stable on NBC’s Just Shoot Me and most recently as Albert "Pops" Solomon on The Goldbergs. He received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017 for his work on TV.
