As the rest of Universal Studios Hollywood reopened to the public for the first time in over a year today, many eyes were on Jurassic World: The Ride, where an amazingly impressive animatronic of the Indominus Rex has made its official debut at the climactic finale of the attraction.
What’s Happening:
- When Universal Studios Hollywood announced that the park would be reopening, they also snuck in the fact that Jurassic World: The Ride would be enhanced with a new animatronic figure of the Indominus Rex from the film, Jurassic World.
- The crowds showed up at the attraction to see the new enhancements, being a big draw on the first day that the attraction has been officially reopened.
- The bulk of the experience is similar to what we’ve already seen from Jurassic World: The Ride already. It’s when we enter Predator Cove that the big changes start to be noticed.
- The addition of a crashed gyrosphere and newly animated plants in the Indominus cage are just the first sign of what’s to come. Just before the lift hill into the Tyrannosaurus Rex kingdom, we see a new animatronic Indominus Rex head peeking through a partially destructed wall.
- Fans of the attraction may recognize this animatronic as the one that was formerly at the climax of the attraction just before the big drop.
- The lift climb is similar as well, and it’s just after passengers see Blue, the velociraptor animatronic, and round the corner that an amazing animatronic is seen.
- Hugely impressive in scale, size, and fluidity, the Indominus Rex animatronic is impressive in every way and leaves riders “gobsmacked” or even terrified but the T-Rex appears for that final showdown as passengers plummet towards their splashdown below.
- The new Indominus Rex figure is not the only thing that debuted at Universal Studios Hollywood as the park reopened. The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash! Attraction also made its official debut today, and you can check that out here!
- You can also check out some photos of the rest of the park on its first official reopening day, as well as watch the replay of our live walk and talk through the park below!
