After learning last month that Russell Crowe would be appearing Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Today, Crowe revealed that he would be playing Zeus in the upcoming film, according to EW.
- Crowe made an appearance on an Australian radio show today nd broke the news that he will be playing Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder.
- "Now, I'm gonna get on my bicycle, I'm gonna ride up to Disney-Fox studios… and round about 9:15, I shall be Zeus in Thor 4," Crowe said during his interview. "It's my last day of Zeus-ing about."
- Representatives for Crowe and Disney have not commented on the news.
- Marvel Comics’ version of Zeus is very much what you would expect. He is the king of the Olympians and a counter to Thor and the Asgardians.
- His presence may be a bit ominous in this film however, given that we know Christian Bale will be playing the villainous Gorr the God Butcher. It would seem likely either Zeus or the rest of the Olympians would be among the villain’s victims.
