ABC Announces "Soul of a Nation" Specials Focusing on George Floyd and Juneteenth

This summer ABC News will present two new specials as part of their Soul of a Nation series. The first special, After Floyd: The Year that Shook the World, reflects on the first anniversary of George Floyd’s death; and the second program will celebrate Juneteenth with special guest, performances and more.

What’s Happening:

ABC News announced two upcoming Soul of a Nation specials that will reflect on the first anniversary of George Floyd’s death and commemorate Juneteenth.
On Tuesday, May 25 (10:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET), a year after Floyd’s death, the network will present After Floyd: The Year that Shook the World – A Soul of a Nation Special.
After Floyd will reflect on the cataclysmic, generation-defining moment that arguably inspired change around the world, chronicle the dramatic and epic events surrounding Floyd’s death and spotlight where the country goes from this point forward.
Then on Friday, June 18 (9:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET), ABC News will present an exciting evening of celebration and resilience in observance of Juneteenth.
Audiences will enjoy two hours of intimate storytelling, powerful tributes and musical performances.
This marks the second year in a row ABC News will produce a special to honor the history and significance of Juneteenth among the Black community and around the United States.
More details for each special will be announced in the coming weeks.

Soul of a Nation is the first weekly broadcast network newsmagazine that aimed to put Black life in America front and center, presenting viewers with a unique window into authentic realities of Black life and diving deeper into this critical moment of racial awakening.
