Recently a Disney Cast Member was recognized with a Disney Heroes Award after he helped save a four-year-old from a flooded car.
What’s Happening:
- EPCOT Security Cast Member Joe Diaz was on his way home when he saw a car in a pond. He went into the partially flooded car and kept a trapped four-year-old’s head above water until emergency teams arrived to free him.
- Jeff Vahle, the President of Walt Disney World Resort, shared the story and photos of the Disney Heroes Award being given to Joe on his Instagram account.
- The Disney Heroes Award is given to Cast Members who save a life or prevent serious injury.
- Joe was also recognized by Vice President of Security, Linda Reid and Vice President of EPCOT, Kartika Rodriguez.
