Disney Vacation Club has announced an expansion at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with building 9 (Big Pine Key) being converted into 200 Resort Studios starting next spring and opening in summer 2022.
What’s Happening:
- Terri Schultz, SVP Disney Vacation Club, Guided Adventures & Expeditions and Golden Oak, announced that building 9 (Big Pine Key) over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be converted to 200 Resort Studios starting next spring.
- The studios will become part of The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, offering views of Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom.
- The units are expected to be open by summer 2022.
- In the announcement, Schultz also acknowledged the pause on construction for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge due to the pandemic.
California DVC Resort:
- Over in California, Schultz stated that plans for the 12-story DVC resort at the Disneyland Resort are coming along, with approvals given from the City of Anaheim for the project. The resort will be located near the Disneyland Hotel and include around 350 rooms.
