Jumping on to the trend of oversized food items at an oversized price, Knott’s Berry Farm is… expanding… their menu at Coasters Diner to include a massive new burger at an arguably massive price.
What’s Happening:
- A Tweet from Knott’s Berry Farm has showcased a new menu offering at the park’s Coasters Diner themed to the neighboring roller coaster, XCelerator.
- The new burger, called “Xcelerator, the Burger!” is 12 inches in diameter and is topped with fries, bacon, and cheese, and can likely feed more than one or two people, with the tweet saying it will easily feed “several hungry food enthusiasts.”
- More astonishing than the burger is the price it will cost to acquire the 12 inches of patty, fries, bacon and cheese, coming in at a whopper of a price tag, $56.00 for the menu item.
- Knott’s Berry Farm says this HUGE offering is part of their HUGE 100 year anniversary celebration, a grand summer-long anniversary celebration paying tribute to the Knott family's rich history and legacy of family fun for all. "The Knott's Family Reunion" is a chance for friends and families to come together to relive their favorite Knott's remembrances while also creating unforgettable, exciting new memories. Guests will be immersed in a once-in-a-lifetime anniversary celebration featuring festive park décor, themed food items, unique entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and special surprises along the way, all paying homage to the nostalgia that surrounds the historic theme park.
- Aside from the massive new burger, guests will also be able to Meet and Greet with Whittles, who was first seen at the park in 1973 and is looking forward to meeting new friends this summer in Ghost Town. Guests can also meet and great with the characters from Bear-y Tales after experiencing the new Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair. The park also will light up the Buena Park skyline each night with a newly redesigned “K” atop the Sky Tower, as well as allow guests to enjoy photo ops themed to Kingdom of the Dinosaurs, the Wacky Soap Box Racers, and in the famous Haunted Shack.
- Just down the street in Anaheim, Disney California Adventure is getting ready to open Avengers Campus, which has already garnered a lot of buzz over a new menu item at the Pym Test Kitchen; a two foot long, 9 inch wide sandwich with salami, rosemary ham, provolone, tomato mayo, and arugula with marinara sauce called the “Pym-ini” with a $100.00 price tag.
- It seems that now with Knott’s Berry Farm’s new Xcelerator Burger, the large food trend and new menu items will be the new groundbreaking attractions that park goers will be heading out to see.
