Fully Vaccinated Cast Members No Longer Required To Wear Coverings Outdoors at Walt Disney World

Update: Added confirmation from Disney from the Cast and Community page on Facebook.

Walt Disney World Cast Members who are fully vaccinated and are located outdoors are no longer required to wear face coverings.

What’s Happening:

  • Starting today, June 18, Walt Disney World Cast Members who are fully vaccinated and work outdoors will no longer be required to wear face coverings.
  • Cast Members who do work at indoor locations such as merchandise shops, or indoor attractions will need to continue wearing masks at this time.

  • Jeremiah was roaming around Disney’s Animal Kingdom today and spoke to a Cast Member confirming the news.
  • Disney has since confirmed the news through the Cast and Community page on Facebook with the following message:
    • “Here’s something to smile about! As of today, face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated Cast Members working outdoors. It’s so great to see our vaccinated Cast sharing happy smiles with Guests and fellow Cast Members outside once again as we continue to make intentional and gradual changes to our health and safety protocols.”

  • You can watch Jeremiah’s park walk through Disney’s Animal Kingdom from today below.

  • As a reminder, Guests who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks except while using Disney Transportation such as buses, monorails, or the Skyliner. These changes do not impact Cast Members, who have been required to continue wearing face coverings but are slowly seeing changes made.
