ESPN will be reviving an interview series when they bring Up Close with Sage Steele to ESPN+ starting tomorrow.
- Up Close was an interview series that ran on ESPN from 1981 to 2001.
- The series was originally hosted by Roy Firestone. Chris Myers took over in 1994 before being replaced by Gary Miller, who hosted until the show wrapped up in 2001.
- ESPN+ shared a video that both showcases the history of the series and looks ahead to its revival:
- Now, the show will be revived with Sage Steele hosting.
- The premiere episode will debut on ESPN+ tomorrow, June 30, with Steele interviewing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
- After Prescott, the series will continue with Steele showcasing the biggest storied and best athletes in sports.
