Pride Month may be winding down, but the Walt Disney Company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion remains strong all year long. Today, Disneyland Paris is reflecting on the events and offerings available to guests and Cast Members in celebration of Pride Month and beyond.
What’s Happening:
- With Pride Month coming to a close, Disneyland Paris shared with fans a highlight of the events and special offerings they provided to guests and Cast Members in support of the LGBTQ+ community this June.
- This month, Disneyland Paris joined in a global effort to recognize, engage and raise awareness on LGBTQ+ topics as part of the resort’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of inclusion, where everyone is welcome.
- Kicking things off on June 1st was the Pride dance challenge where guests submitted their own attempts at recreating a choreographed video to the exclusive new song, “Around the World.”
- Guests at the resort and on shopDisney could purchase this year’s exciting Rainbow Disney Collection merchandise as a way to show their support in style.
- The Walt Disney Company will donate a portion of sales from the collection to organizations that support LGBTQ+ communities including:
- MAG Jeunes LGBT in France
- Diversity Role Models in the UK
- ARELAS in Spain
- diversity München e.V. in Germany
- Famiglie Arcobaleno in Italy
- Also debuting this month was Disney PRIDE BERG (Business Employee Resource Group).
- Made up of a panel of Cast Members from all divisions and levels of the company, this group works every day to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ topics by organizing and supporting key actions and events.
- Cast Members were invited to participate in Disneyland Paris’ biggest activation of Pride Month, the virtual Pride Conference.
- Pride Conference brought together Cast Members, associations and members of the LGBTQ+ community to talk about themes of same-sex families, allyship, discrimination and gender identity.
- This year’s event featured many French associations contributing their valuable insights such as:
- MAG Jeunes LGBT
- ADFH, Association Contact
- Le collectif Famille.s
- Respect Zone
- ACVS-49
- But that wasn’t all. Disneyland Paris invited 40 members from MAG Jeunes LGBT to experience a day of magic at the parks last week, followed by an opportunity to listen and learn along with our Cast Members during the Pride Conference.
- And to cap off this month of Pride Celebrations, yesterday guests at Disneyland Park also had a fun surprise when Mickey and Minnie stepped out in colorful costumes to the theme song “Around the World.”
- Global celebrations of Pride Month might be coming to a close, but Disneyland Paris’ commitment to diversity and inclusion continues all year round!
