Marvel Studios hosted four Black Widow Fan Event Premieres around the world on June 29th, where the MCU’s biggest fans were treated to an early screening of the film and a few surprises. In addition, the studio released a new poster today featuring the film’s ensemble cast.
What’s Happening:
- Marvel Studios fans in Melbourne, London, New York and Los Angeles got to see Black Widow early at Fan Premier Event screenings.
- Each screening included a special pre-recorded greeting from Scarlett Johansson introducing the film for fans in each city.
- In Melbourne, fans were treated to a Q&A with director Cate Shortland.
- Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena in the film, greeted fans in London, stopping to take photos on the red carpet and giving a live introduction.
- In New York City, David Harbour (Red Guardian) did the same, giving fans in cosplay a special photo opportunity.
- And in Hollywood at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre, Marvel Studios’ president and chief creative officer Kevin Feige was joined by producers Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum and Brian Chapek to introduce the film.
- Another fun surprise for fans in Los Angeles was special guest Clark Greg (Agent Coulson) who isn’t in the film, but is a Marvel Studios legend and superfan.
- Due to the Hollywood event’s close proximity to corporate Disney, studio executives were also in attendance, including chief executive officer Bob Chapek (father of producer Brian Chapek) and chairman of Walt Disney Studios Alan Horn.
- Black Widow hits theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access on July 9th.
