A Texas man was arrested for theft after sneaking into Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in May, not paying appropriately for admission to the park or parking lot, according to WESH.
What’s Happening:
- In late May, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Magic Kingdom to arrest a man who was caught sneaking into the park without proper admission on May 23rd.
- The man, later identified as 31 year old Johnny Tran, originally from Texas, was seen walking up the berm near the main entrance to the park and then exiting through a door labeled for Cast Members Only, granting him access into a backstage area. He then entered Tony’s Town Square restaurant before removing his overshirt and walking back out into the park in an attempt to not be recognized, according to reports.
- It was also revealed that Tran had bypassed all points of sale to enter the park, as well as a failure to pay to park his vehicle in the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot at the Transportation and Ticket Center, allegedly totaling in a value of $165.58 having been stolen.
- According to the affidavit, Tran was taken to a security office and asked for an attorney after he was read his Miranda rights when a deputy arrived.
- The Walt Disney Company is pressing charges of trespassing and petit theft against Tran, who was taken to the Orange County Corrections Department.
- According to court records, Tran is due for arraignment on July 27th.
