The has been reported that Hulu will begin adding HDR support to some of its original shows and movies
What’s Happening:
- The Verge has reported that Hulu has begun to add HDR support to some of its original shows and movies with HDR, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision available on select devices.
- HDR delivers a higher contrast range to give finer picture details.
- Shows and movies that support the added formats will have an HDR badge appear on the content.
- A user on AVSForum compiled a list of shows that are currently showing the badge, which includes Nine Perfect Strangers, The Handmaid’s Tale, The Great, Woke, The Runaways, The United States vs. Billie Holiday, and more.
The following devices are currently supported for HDR:
- Roku (HDR compatible models)
- Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube devices (HDR compatible models with Fire OS 7 or later)
- Apple TV 4K (Gen 5 or later)
- Vizio (HDR compatible models)
- Chromecast Ultra (HDR-compatible models)
