The Walt Disney World Resort has announced upcoming refurbishments for both Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

What’s Happening:
- Kali River Rapids will undergo its annual refurbishment starting November 1, 2021 with an expected reopening in mid-December.
- Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will undergo a refurbishment starting January 4, 2022 through mid-April 2022.
- The refurbishments scheduled will not change the ride experience for either attraction and are to help with annual maintenance.
- Guests going to Animal Kingdom may see vehicles operating for Expedition Everest during the refurbishment, but it’s to simply help test updates being done and the attraction will not be open during the scheduled timeframe for the refurbishment.
