With both major Photopass retail locations at the Disneyland Resort closed for refurbishment, Disneyland has installed a new Photopass viewing area adjacent to the Disneyland Newsstand just outside the Disneyland Park turnstiles.
What’s Happening:
- With the Main Street Photo Supply Co. on Disneyland’s Main Street USA closed, the place to buy prints of your Photopass photos has been moved just outside of the park attached to Disneyland’s Newsstand.
- On the park side of the turnstiles, the Disneyland Newsstand remains a quick stop for park merchandise, but out in the esplanade, guests can peruse photos on their Disney Photopass and order prints without having to enter the park. The same can be said for those whose Disney Photopass photos were taken at Disney California Adventure.
- Kingswell Camera Shop at Disney California Adventure is also closed for refurbishment at this time, so all guests from both parks who want to see their photos while at the Disneyland Resort must turn to this new option.
- The Main Street Photo Supply Co. store on Main Street USA in Disneyland Park is currently closed for refurbishment. This was once the place where guests could scroll through their photos, and at one point in time, also served as the main photography hub of the park, selling actual film and even cameras and disposable cameras to ensure that guests captured every moment they could. Over time, the transition was made and the store became the main Photopass hub where guests could access all the photos that Photopass photographers took in the park, and slowly all personal camera needs were slowly phased out as Guests chose a more digital format, and the increasing popularity of photography on personal cell phones and devices.
