Walt Disney Studios Hires Daria Cercek as President of Live Action Theatrical

Walt Disney Studios has hired Daria Cercek as the new president of the studio’s theatrical live action division.

What’s Happening:

  • Daria Cercek is joining Walt Disney Studios as the company’s new President, Disney Live Action – Theatrical. Per Variety, Cercek will now be spearheading all aspects for Disney’s live action theatrical film slate, including developing and producing films using pre-existing characters and IP and original projects.  
  • She will report to David Greenbaum, the president of both Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios.
  • Cercek comes to Disney off her role as co-president of the Motion Picture Group at Paramount Pictures, alongside Mike Ireland, where she oversaw films like Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Gladiator 2, Smile 2, A Quiet Place: Day One and The Lost City. She was previously at New Line Cinema and the pre-Disney-owned 20th Century Fox.
