John Stamos Cast as Lead in Disney+ Original Series “Big Shot”

A new series starring John Stamos is coming to Disney+. Announced this afternoon, Stamos has been cast as the lead of a new dramedy, Big Shot. 

What’s happening:

  • John Stamos has been cast in the lead role in the Disney+ original series, Big Shot.
  • The series is written and executive produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey and produced by ABC Studios.  
  • Brad Garrett (Single Parents), who pitched the original idea to Kelley, is an executive producer on the one-hour dramedy.
  • Bill D’Elia will also serve as an executive producer and will direct the first episode.
  • The 10-episode series follows a temperamental college basketball coach (Stamos) who gets fired from his job and must take a teaching and coaching job at an elite all-girls private high school.

  • A celebrated actor and producer, Stamos currently stars in the hit drama You, for Netflix.
  • Disney fans can see him playing ‘Chef Louis’ in The Wonderful World of Disney presents The Little Mermaid Live! airing Tuesday, November 5 on ABC.
