Marvel Studios has announced that principle photography has begun for next year’s MCU film, Captain Marvel. Production is underway and will film in Los Angeles and Fresno, California as well as in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana. Captain Marvel takes place in the 1990’s and stars Brie Larson as the titular hero also known as Carol Danvers. This film is part of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and fans speculate Larson’s Danvers will play a major roll in the 2019 untitled Avengers 4. Along with Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg will also appear in the film presumably as Agent Coulson. Could this be the start of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Larson visited the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada to research her character. She’s pictured below with Brigadier General Jeannie Leavitt, 57th Wing Commander.
Captain Marvel premieres in theaters on March 8, 2019
