Emily Beecham, the Cannes Best Actress 2019 winner, has reportedly signed on to join the cast of Disney’s live-action film Cruella, according to Deadline.
- Beecham won the Cannes festival’s Best Actress Award for her role in the sci-fi drama Little Joe.
- She is also known for he roles in the comedy-drama Daphne and the AMC action adventure series Into the Badlands.
- It has not yet been announced what role she will be playing in Cruella.
- Beecham will be joining a cast that already includes:
- Emma Stone as the villainous Cruella de Vil
- Joel Fry as Jasper
- Paul Walter Hauser as Horace
- Emma Thompson
- Cruella is based on the animated classic 101 Dalmatians and joins a long list of Disney films being reimagined as live-action for a new generation. The most recent release was The Lion King.
- Cruella will come to theaters on May 28, 2021.
