Disney’s live-action film Cruella is reportedly in talks to add a second Emma. Veteran actor Emma Thompson is in early talks to join the cast of the film, according to Variety.
- Cruella is based on the villainous Cruella de Vil from Disney’s animated classic 101 Dalmatians.
- This will not be Thompson’s first role in a Disney live-action film. She voiced Mrs. Potts in the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast and portrayed P.L. Travers in Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks
- Thompson will join Emma Stone, who is set to star as the iconic Disney villain.
- Craig Gillespie is slated to direct the new film with Marc Platt, Kristin Burr and Andrew Gunn tapped to produce.
- Thompson’s role in the new film has not yet been announced.
- Cruella is slated to premiere on December 23, 2020.
