Photos – Disney Wish Construction Update

Disney has shared construction photos of the Disney Wish as it continues to be built in Germany.

What’s Happening:

  • Disney has shared a look at the Disney Wish under construction in Germany as Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship gets ready to set sail in 2022.
  • The update looks at two spaces currently being worked on, the wheelhouse and bow.

  • The wheelhouse, also known as “the bridge” is where the captain and officers command the ship.

  • In the picture above, you can see the wheelhouse being lifted and installed. The next step will be to get the first building part called the gigablock, “married” to the foreship with remaining aft blocks lifted and installed to complete the entire ship.

  • The second part of the installation update shows the bow of the Disney Wish being installed. This is where Captain Minnie will be featured in a designed medallion and filigree.
  • The tip of the bow alone weighs 500 metric tons.

  • The process of lifting, installing, na dfully welding the bow while it was suspended took under 10 hours to complete.
  • There are now 30 blocks remaining to be installed to complete the Disney Wish before it sets sail with more updates to come.
