A second season renewal for the Hulu Original, Dollface, has not been affected by production delays due to the global pandemic and will return for its sophomore season, according to Deadline.
What’s Happening:
- The Hulu original Dollface will reportedly be returning for a second season despite production delays caused by the global pandemic.
- Previously, there was a concern that the series would be the latest of the scripted series to have it’s renewal reversed because of these delays. Craig Erwich, President of ABC Entertainment and Hulu Originals said that they “have a plan to bring it back.”
- Dollface follows Jules (Kat Dennings), a young woman who, after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend – must deal with her own imagination in order to literally and metaphorically re-enter the world of women, and rekindle the female friendships she left behind. Brenda Song, Shay Mitchell and Esther Povitsky also star.
- The Hulu Original series debuted back in November of 2019 and was deemed one of the best performing new binge series for subscriber engagement at the time and was renewed for its second season in January of 2020.
What They’re Saying:
- Craig Erwich: “That was a show that was impacted by Covid, it was one of the top shows we launched in [2019] and I’m excited to have it come back for season 2.”
