Library Highlights
The Little Mermaid
2019 marks the 30th anniversary of The Little Mermaid, which was released on November 17th, 1989. Dive under the sea to relive this magical tale about a mermaid who dreams of life on land. If you want to continue the anniversary celebration, Disney+ also has both direct-to-video sequels and animated series that ran from 1992 to 1994.
Short – Mickey’s Birthday Party
November 18th is the official birthday of both Mickey and Minnie Mouse! This classic short from 1942 finds Minnie throwing a surprise birthday party for Mickey while all of his friends help out, including some hilarious cake baking antics by Goofy.
TV – Mickey Mouse – “Season 4, Episode 9 – The Birthday Song”
This made-for-TV short has a very similar theme to Mickey’s Birthday Party, albeit with different antics. Here, Minnie has written a special birthday song for Mickey but the notes have run away, leading to some hilarious moments during the chase.
