Hulu has announced four castings for their upcoming romantic comedy series Four Weddings and a Funeral.
- Hulu has cast the following actors to star in their upcoming limited romantic comedy series:
- Jessica Williams (2 Dope Queens)
- Nikesh Patel (Indian Summers)
- Rebecca Rittenhouse (Into the Dark: The Body)
- John Reynolds (Search Party)
- The pilot episode of Four Weddings and a Funeral was written by Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton.
- Mindy Kaling, Tracey Wigfield, Jonathan Prince, Matt Warburton, Howard Klein of 3Arts Entertainment, Charlie Grandy, Tristram Shapeero and Charles McDougall serve as executive producers.
- This will be the second Hulu original series from Mindy Kaling, after The Mindy Project.
- The series comes from MGM Television and Universal Television, with MGM serving as the lead studio.
- This will be Hulu’s second project with MGM, following The Handmaid’s Tale.
- The series is inspired by the 1994 film of the same name.
- Four Weddings and a Funeral is planned to premiere on Hulu sometime in 2019.
The Plot:
- Jess (Jessica Williams), the young communications director for a New York senatorial campaign, receives a wedding invitation from her college schoolmate now living in London. She leaves her professional and personal life behind, in favor of traveling to England and reconnecting with old friends and ends up in the midst of their personal crises. Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course there are four weddings… and a funeral.
