Disney Announces Details for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Opening
Fans worried that the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be a madhouse are probably still right to think that. However, this week Disneyland revealed some details on how they plan to run the preview period of the new land, you know, before it’s fully operational. Disney outlined their plans for the “soft opening” that will require reservations to experience. Reservation holders may only have a limited window of time to enjoy Galaxy’s Edge, though details are still being worked out on how that might work. Once inside the land, all of the attractions, shops, and restaurants will be first-come first-served during the reservation-access-only period. There will be no FastPass line for the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction or reservations for Oga’s Cantina.
Disney Bans Ice, Oversize Strollers, and Smoking From Parks
It was a bad week to be loose ice, oversized strollers, and cigarettes as the domestic Disney Parks decided to “cancel” them. In efforts to make a more enjoyable guest experience for everyone, Disney announced that they would be banning certain practices from Walt Disney World and Disneyland Parks. Disney will no longer have smoking areas within the parks, so guests who choose to smoke will need to head to the designated areas outside the park. Disney has also changed the size guidelines for strollers that are allowed in the parks. New guidelines read: strollers may be no larger than 31″ (79cm) wide and 52″ (132cm) long or smaller. Finally, loose ice and dry ice can no longer be brought into the parks. Guests are encouraged to bring reusable ice packs if they plan to use coolers during their visits.
