ABC has reportedly picked up an untitled drama starring Cobie Smulders and based on the Stumptown graphic novel to series. Smulders will star as private investigator, Dex Parios.

What’s happening:
- According to Deadline, ABC has reportedly picked up a new, currently untitled drama series starring Cobie Smulders.
- The show now being referred to as Untitled Cobie Smulders was formerly known as Stumptown and is based on the graphic novel series of the same name.
- The untitled series is the second picked up by the network for the coming season. Earlier this week, ABC announced a pickup of the Black-ish spinoff series, Mixed-ish that will join the 2019-2020 television season.
- Deadline is also reporting that ABC has high hopes for the Stumptown-inspired series as indicated by having recently signed an overall deal with creator, writer and showrunner, Jason Richman.
- Smulders play private investigator, Dex Parios. She is best know to Marvel fans for her protral of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
- This series marks her full time return to network television since starring in CBS’s How I Met Your Mother.
Synopsis:
- “Based on the Stumptown graphic novel series, it follows Dex Parios (Smulders) as a strong, assertive, and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt, and a brother to take care of in Portland, Oregon. Her military intelligence skills make her a great P.I., but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and not quite in alliance with the police.”
