It seems that Disney+ has found a director for their Marvel miniseries,The Falcon and Winter Soldier. Kari Skogland will reportedly helm the project for Disney’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service.

- Deadline is writing that Disney has found their director for new Disney+ series The Falcon and Winter Soldier.
- Kari Skogland has reportedly been tapped to helm the 6-part Marvel series for Disney’s new streamer.
- Skogland’s directing career spans a variety of acclaimed television series and movies with her most notable credits including:
- The Handmaid’s Tale
- AMC’s NOS4A2
- Showtime’s upcoming limited series The Loudest Voice
- HBO’s Boardwalk Empire
- The Walking Dead
- Fear the Walking Dead
- The Americans
- House of Cards
- The Punisher
- As previously announced, Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan will reprise their roles as the title characters.
- Additionally, Daniel Bruhl and Emily Van Camp who both star in Captain America: Civil War are reportedly in talks to join the show as well.
- While the storyline has not been revealed, Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige has said that what happens in the Disney+ series would “totally and completely” weave into the films.
- And yes, that means the events in Avengers: Endgame could be referenced throughout any of the four new series coming to Disney+.
- In fact (and spoiler alert) Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr. even says that he’s, “heard that Mackie’s accepting the shield from Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame will figure into the miniseries, but the studio had no comment on where it goes.”
- The Falcon and Winter Soldier is expected to debut on Disney’s streaming service in August 2020.
