20th Century Fox’s screen adaptation of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic starring Julie Andrews is a perfect way to connect this week’s episode of Encore! with Disney’s Fox acquisition. It’s also a great way to enter the holiday season with the perennial song “My Favorite Things.”
Miracle on 34th Street
When the actor playing Santa in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is unable to fulfill his duties, Maureen O’Hara (The Parent Trap) finds a quick replacement who soon ends up delighting shoppers at her store. But when he claims to be the real Santa, things get complicated for her daughter. Fox’s holiday classic starts on Thanksgiving and is another great way to kick-off the holiday season on Disney+.
TV: Boy Meets World – “Turkey Day” (Season 4, Episode 10)
One of ABC’s most beloved sitcoms finds best friends Corey and Shaun devising a way for both of their families to spend Thanksgiving together.
