Disneyland Reopening
After being closed for more than a year, Disneyland Resort is excited to welcome guests back to their theme parks. Starting on April 30th, both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will reopen to California Residents only per Government issued health and safety protocols. Reservations will be required. At this time the park capacity is limited to 15% of Fire Code. Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa will resume operations on April 29th, while Disney Vacation Club Villas at the Grand Californian will reopen on May 2, 2021. Below is a list of their updated health and safety guidelines that guests, Cast Members, and Operating Participants will be required to follow during their visit.
Guidelines, Restrictions, and Safety Measures
The Happiest Place on Earth will be welcoming guests home in the coming weeks and we can’t wait! While it’s exciting to know that Disney attractions and delicious Mickey shaped foods are things we’ll be experiencing later this year, the reopening plan comes with new health and safety guidelines designed to protect all guests and Cast Members. From face coverings and temperature checks, to elevated cleaning standards, there are several new measures guests can expect to encounter on their next visit to Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland has updated their safety measures per CDC guidelines including enhanced sanitation procedures, distance spacing, and screening. Disney is asking that all guests and cast members comply with following to be allowed to visit the Resort and Parks:
- Face covering required– Guests 2 years of age and older are required to wear a face covering during their visit.
- Temperature check required –Temperature checks will be required upon arrival, and guests with a temperature of 100.4°F degrees or greater will not be admitted.
- Wash hands often – Wash your hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds.
- Social distancing – Practice social distancing and keep at least 6 feet (2 meters) between your travel party and others.
- Floor markings – When present, please stand on the floor markings until the group in front of you moves forward.

In addition to face coverings and temperature checks, guests can expect the following when they visit Disneyland Resort

- Increased cleaning and disinfection of food locations, ride vehicles, restrooms and other frequent “touch points” that go beyond Disney’s cleaning procedures
- Social distancing practices at all locations through the parks, within attractions and queues and at restaurants
- Contactless payments (ApplePay, GooglePay, NFC Credit Card) and “no touch” policies where possible
