Happy Lunar New Year! Over at Universal Orlando Resort, there are some great new and limited-time food offerings to celebrate the year of the snake.
What’s Happening:
- Spending the holidays at Universal Orlando Resort is always a great way to make incredible memories with friends and family, and Lunar New Year is no exception.
- The Discover Universal Blog has shared some great ways guests visiting the resort can celebrate the start of the year of the snake.
- Officially kicking off today, Lunar New Year ushers in the first new moon of a calendar year. The holiday is celebrated throughout many Asian cultures.
- Through February 15th, celebratory food and beverage offerings can be found throughout Universal CityWalk, Universal Studios Florida, and Universal Islands of Adventure. You won’t want to miss out on these Lunar New Year treats.
Voodoo Doughnut Orlando
Located in CityWalk, the fan-favorite donut shop is offering a Coconut Pandan donut. Embracing the tropical and savory-sweet flavor of the pandan plant found throughout Southeast Asia, the treat is filled with ube-flavored filling and topped with green tea velvet icing, toasted coconut shavings and snake gummies.
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar
Located in CityWalk, Cowfish is offering several items in celebration of Lunar New Year. Firstly, guests will find the Snake in the Grass Roll. The delicious sushi roll is filled with tempura shrimp, avocado and unagi (eel) and topped with honey, spicy mayo and shrimp crunchies.
Perfectly paired with the delicious roll is their South Seas Snake cocktail. Designed to celebrate Chinese culture and flavors, the cocktail features Ming River Sichuan Baiju liquor. The Baiju is paired with a classic rum and pineapple and lime juices to create a delicious tropical drink. The beverage comes topped with a ginger puree, an orange slice, and a snake-shaped bamboo leaf.
Bend the Bao
Located in CityWalk, the Asian-fusion restaurant has released two unique boba drinks. Featuring the Winter Melon & Strawberry Tea Lemonade with aya jelly boba, and the Passion Fruit & Ginger Tea with lychee boba, these fruity and refreshing drinks are available now.
Lombard’s Seafood Grille
Guests visiting Universal Studios Florida can head to Lombard’s Seafood Grille to try their Crispy Snowflake Potstickers. Stuffed with shrimp and served with dragon sauce, these dumplings are sure to be delicious.
Croissant Moon Bakery
Fittingly named for a Lunar New Year treat, the Islands of Adventure located bakeshape offers a chocolatey variation of the traditional Chinese mooncake. Typically filled with lotus seed or red bean paste, the thick pastry is instead stuffed with a rich chocolate cheesecake filling.
