Each November and December, Magic Kingdom transforms into an even more magical place as Christmas time covers the park like the first snow of winter. From the massive Christmas tree on main street to the garland in Tomorrowland, it’s like the Cast Members become Santa’s helpers and don’t miss a single area of the park. But, on select nights, the park becomes truly like a visit to Santa’s workshop when Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes over!
As a hard ticket event, meaning no included with the day ticket, guests may enter the park as early as 4 p.m. to enjoy all the attractions but, as night starts to fall, guests without MVMCP tickets are directed to the exit. Throughout the night, guesta are given all the sugar cookies and hot coco they can drink at locations all over the park just by finding one of the giant candy canes. The night is filled with so much fun that I honestly felt like I missed half the party just having enjoying the magic of the holidays with friends. The event is also a favorite due to the special character meet and greets ranging from Scrooge McDuck to some of the Princesses with their Princes to Sandy Claws! No Magic Kingdom party would be complete without magical entertainment! Starting off each night (party or not) is the beautiful lighting of Cinderella Castle.
One of the great things to do on these “cold winter” Florida party nights is to take a trip on the Jingle Cruise. Celebrating its third year, this overlay just keeps getting more and more jolly!
By far the highlight of the MVMCP has to be the Once Upon A Christmastime Parade where the big jolly guy shows up. Plus, one of my favorite fireworks displays of the year, Holiday Wishes!
As I said, the party only runs on select nights so hurry and plan your magical night before you have to wait until Santa comes around next year! For more information and tickets head to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party page.
