YEAR OF A MILLION DREAMS
Grier first acknowledged the Year of a Million Dreams, noting that since the
start of the world wide promotion, Disney Dream Teams had fulfilled 691,494
dreams for resort guests. As that number filled the screen, it slowly scrolled
to 691,495.
HIGH TECH/HIGH TOUCH
Grier went on to note that while dreams were an important part of the Disney
Resort experience, it was High Touch and High Tech that created them in the
first place.
High Touch, he explained was the everyday interaction between Disney’s guests and cast members. On a daily basis, this was how guests experience the Disney difference. High Touch also described the way that Disney characters and their stories were used as the basis for new attractions and adventures.
High Tech, on the other hand, was the way that Disney’s Imagineers, artists and designers, created memorable theme park experiences. High Tech, he went on to explain, was established by Walt Disney and his very first Imagineers, more than fifty years ago.
