Grizzly River Run
Grizzly River Run
Their description: Roaring white-water adventure
My description: This is my favorite ride at DCA. Grizzly Peak is beautiful and the trip
around is very exciting. The rafts themselves are decently themed, and are small so you
feel the rapids more. The track layout is the best for any rapids ride I have been on. The
drops that you encounter along keep the momentum going, a problem with most raft
attractions. The queue area unfortunately is another snoozer, as is the very long climb to
the top of the mountain. Also the view at the top of the parking lot is very annoying and
keeps me from getting immersed. Finally, the absence of animatronics or show effects is
noticeable. However, none of these problems keeps Grizzly River Run from being an
exceptional attraction.
I give Grizzly River Run an 8 out of 10.
It's a Bug's Life
Its Tough to Be a Bug
Their description: Strap on "bug-eyes" for this humorous 3D adventure
My description: What a difference a queue makes! This queue is so detailed it really
requires a second look. At the beginning, you circle around a replica of Ant Island
complete with the tree in the center. Once you enter the cave, you become immersed in the
bug world. The music that plays of bugs singing Broadway hits is a clever idea. I was
having fun identifying the different songs that played. The movie itself is a little too
fast-paced and intense for my taste, but is well done. The 3-D is very good, especially at
the end.
I give Its Tough to Be a Bug an 8 out of 10.
Mission Tortilla Factory
Mission Tortilla Factory
Their description: A behind-the-scenes look at tortilla production
My description: Well, this would be a good attraction if the process of tortillas
fascinates you. Otherwise, this is just a few paintings and a tortilla machine. Skip it if
there is a line, but if it is slow go in to get a free tortilla. This is not an attraction
to me.
I give Mission Tortilla Factory a 1 out of 10.
