Downtown Disney
Between the Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, DCA and Disneyland itself
is the Disneyland Resort's first shopping, dining and entertainment district - Downtown
Disney. Downtown Disney is comprised of a number of specialty restaurants, a movie
theater, a huge store for Disney products and several smaller shops.
The La Brea Bakery in November
As you exit Disneyland or DCA the first place you come upon is La Brea Bakery serving specialty coffee, juices and baked goods. La Brea Bakery will also serve wine and micro brew beers. Having a bakery so close to the Disneyland and DCA entrances should be a big plus for guests as they arrive to the parks.
The World of Disney in November
Continuing on into Downtown Disney the next place you come upon is the World of Disney. This 40,000 square foot store located below part of the Grand Californian Hotel will offer just about everything with a Disney name on it. Next is Naples Ristorante and Pizzeria offering Southern Italian cuisine. Opposite Naples is a Disney-run candy store called Marceline's (named after the small Missouri town where Walt Disney spend some of his childhood and which provided the inspiration for Main Street). Marceline's will feature a display kitchen showing the candy-making process. To the west of Marceline's is the Wine Bar District featuring a wine and tapas bar at its center and Cafe Catal, a fine dining restaurant by The Patina Group.
The House of Blues in November
Continuing west towards the Disneyland Hotel you next come upon three very large buildings. The first is the House of Blues, a 250-seat restaurant with a Delta-inspired cuisine that also has a 1,000-seat live music venue. Next is Y Arriba! Y Arriba!, a unique club and restaurant featuring tapas, several bars, a coffee bar, fashion shows, live vignettes and many other types of entertainment. The last major building on this side of Downtown Disney houses Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, 15,000 square foot restaurant featuring New Orleans cuisine and live entertainment.
